We have been busy setting up the final stage of the build, a good friend of mine recently opened a shop, 137 Fabrications. They are working on a few builds, and once they get one of their projects out of the garage the panda will be going in.
Hes done some pretty impressive work over there and hes going to help get all of our cage work done, and add a few extra things while hes in there. Pictures to come.... heres a few images of their most recent project, once this is done my car will be going in. ![]() ![]() ![]() More to come! Last edited by Not All There; 08-21-2010 at 07:58 PM. Just dropped the panda off at 137 Fabrication. He was racing out on Pikes Peak this year, got some inspiration to get my car in asap. Cage progress pics soon to come, then another paintjob once its back! Stay tuned!

thanks man, its still a 50 footer lol. Some Cage Updates!
So theres been alot of building going on over at 137 Fabrications. Dave is doing a great job building the rest of the cage, with what I already had. Ill be honest, Dave ended up only using the front pillar bars from the Autopower Super Rally Kit, which still didn't really work right. He tweaked some of the bends, and as you can see they lined up not exactly where it was ideal. Due to the fact this is a Hillclimb focused build, we decided not to build new ones, but to scrap the rest of the front fit. Extending the cage forward as much as possible, making more room for my long legs, but also leaving us short on all the other tubes provided in the kit. Dave ordered some more sticks of tubing, and started getting creative. He did a great job notching the dash, which was an asskicker, and then started bending the new pipes, and welding them in. Heres some progress pictures. Once again, the only things used from the original kit were the rear main hoop, two of the down tubes, and then the front pillars. Everything else was cut out of new material and made to fit our needs. Not bashing the kit, but if you dont install it exactly as they designed, and planned for in their shop, you will not be happy with the fit. Along the installing there are just so many factors that can throw it off just enough, that you start throwing away tubes which were provided and making your own. Lesson Learned. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Air |
